Understanding the importance of how anchor text in a link can influence
the optimization of a targeted keywords term and make use of this method
to outrank your competitors for the selected keyword. |
Anchor Text
Once you have shortlisted the keywords to optimize for, you will have
to start building links with the selected keywords as anchor text.
Anchor text and title attribute in the links tell the spiders what kind
of a content they will be expecting from the website.
Links Within Content Of Your Articles
Write related articles, place your links within the content and submit
these articles to online articles directories. This is considered
quality one way link because the link resides within a content that is
highly related to your website.
Submit To Web Directories
Needless to say, this is normally the first link building strategy used
by most webmasters. As mentioned, use your targeted keywords as your
anchor text and choose web directories carefully. I have seen some
rogue directories that places hundreds of links on a single page which
looks more like a link farm.
Blogging
Ok this method needs commitment and time. Do it good and it will help
in building your online reputation too. Find blogs that have the
DoFollow ability which means links are followed and counted as a
relevant backlink. Read the posts and write a good and valuable comment
with a link back to your site.
Forum Signatures
Participate in forums which normally have signatures where you can
place up to 3 links. Be active. Communicate, educate and learn from
these forums by writing valuable threads and posts.
Social Media
There are many ways to get links from social media. One such
technique is to establish profiles on various social media, and link
from your profile on those sites, back to your web site. However, the key is to know which social media sites permit links, and which permit DoFollow links. View our list of DoFollow Social Media Sites
Paid Links? no No NO
You heard me? Paid links are considered as dangerous moves that will
get your site penalized by Google. With Google's recent action against
paid links, my advice is do not try it unless you are really desperate
to lose your ranking. I have bought paid links in the past and got
penalized during the recent update. Got back into the game and have
since stopped buying paid links. Learn from my experiences, it is just
a matter of time before Google finds YOU.
Now that you have read my Art Of Link Building Game, are you ready to play the game?
